ARKit 3 is out and our team is already working with it!

Let’s take a look at the 6 new major features:

  1.      People Occlusion:

You can now use green screen-style effects in almost any situation. Also, AR content is able to pass behind and in front of people in the real world. Immersive experiences take a step further!

  1.       Simultaneous Front and Back Camera:

Face and world tracking are now available simultaneously on the front and back cameras.

  1.      Motion Capture:

You can use motion and poses as an input to the AR experience by capturing the motion of a person in real time with a single camera.

  1.      Collaborative Sessions:

Collaborative sessions between multiple persons is now a possibility. For example, you can now share AR experiences like multiplayer games.

  1.      Multiple Face Tracking:

Tracking tracks up to three faces at once is now possible using the TrueDepth camera on devices powered by an A12 Bionic processor or newer (iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and the 11-inch and 12.9-inch 2018 iPad Pros).

  1.      Additional Improvements:

3D-object detection has been improved, you can now detect up to 100 images at a time and get an automatic estimate of the size of the image, and machine learning is faster when you use it to detect planes in the environment.

We hope that all those new features will inspire you to produce augmented reality experiences in your app or game.
